Reflection

I choose my theme and story because I feel like it is always a stigma not to talk about the areas where being a mom is hard. It has wonderful moments, but I wanted to bring attention to postpartum depression that many moms suffer from in silence. Most of the images I took were at home were I have felt the most depressed. I tried to capture moments of struggle and triggers that make being a mom hard sometimes. I had to try images over and over to find the right composition that told the best story by just looking at the image. I had to play around with lighting and contrasts. I also had to really learn to love a tri-pod, which was sometimes hard for me to figure out. For my presentation I used PowerPoint but then converted it into google slides. I choose the sequence of how my day occurs to show all of what goes into why days are hard for first time moms. This project has helped me learn how to better use my camera and to see things from different lights. Depending on the lighting, the image can be completely different.
